| 1978 Chevrolet Corvette Pace Car, Same owner for the last 32 years, Always garaged with only 30,800 original miles driven less than 1,000 miles per year. The exterior in it’s distinctive Black over Silver with Red Pinstripe separating the two is the original paint. In good condition with a few minor chips it does not distract from the beauty of the car. The door decals (included) were never applied, giving the car a stealthy appearance. The interior is in like new condition, and the engine compartment is all original. Riding on Brand New Goodyear Eagles and equipped with the L48 350-cid V-8, 175-hp, 4-barrel with an Automatic Transmission, Power windows, T-Tops, AM FM 8-Track Stereo, Factory Air Conditioning, Tilt and Telescoping Steering Wheel, Polished Wheels and Silver Leather interior. Truly a remarkably well preserved all original piece of Automotive history. Extras include - Original Pace Car Decals, original Owners and Service Manuals, Car Cover, T-Top covers, 8-track Cassette adapter, rear window louvers. 1978 was the 25th anniversary of Corvette. To celebrate a completely re-designed body was rolled out with new "fastback" styling. The new wrap-around rear window provided much more space behind the seats but was not a hatchback. Access to the storage space is still accessed from behind the seats. All Corvettes this year came with special 25th anniversary badging. The 1978 Corvette was the pace car for the Indianapolis 500. Chevrolet created a limited edition pace car replica, This "Limited Edition Pace Car" was in such a demand in 1978 that despite it's $13,653 sticker price, people were paying up to $75,000 for these cars. . This car has distinctive Black/Silver two-tone paint with a red pin-stripe. Production of the pace car replica was limited to one for every Chevrolet dealership. This amounted to only 6,502 pace cars built in 1978. |
